Bud has finished his Pietenpol Sky Scout. It's powered by a Hacker C-150 with a 6:1 gearbox using a 6 cell lipoly. It is 12 lbs, spans 81 inches and is covered in silk with 6 coats of butyrate dope. Rib stitching, pinking tapes, and tinted to give a translucent antique finish.

The Ford Model A engine is constructed of balsa,brass,aluminum etc... The radiator is made of brass sheet stock soldered like the full scale. There are many fittings on this model and all are hand cut from brass stock in the same methods as the full scale plane.

It's a slow relaxing plane to fly too.....
